WHERE TO BUY
Logic Supply CL100From $347.00
There are quite a few NUC style compact low powered systems on the market these days. Logic supply has set itself apart by creating the rugged cast aluminum and steel CL100.
As I mentioned above the CL100 has an aluminum outer shell, and steel base plate. The PC is is fanless, which is great for industrial applications. It feels rock solid in the hand, almost like one slab of aluminum. It feels sturdy enough to stand on (although I have not tested this).
The device performs as expected. The only processor option is the 4-Core Celeron N3150. So don’t expect to run programs that require a ton of horsepower or games.
In daily use the Celeron proved to be very capable of handling web browsing, word documents, and media playback. It also stayed pretty cool, the CPU never went above 65C. It does get warm to the touch, but never got hot to the point that I couldn’t comfortably hold it in my hand.
Some of the notable features include, USB C, Display port, Gigabit LAN, and the ability to be wall mounted. The CL100 has everything you would expect from a NUC style system, plus some.
The CL100 is a unique device. It is different than many NUC’s in that it has a completely metal body, but is also inexpensive enough for a Home Theater user to purchase. For industrial users I suspect that the CL100 will be a no brainer.
The pricing starts at $347. You can use Logic Supply’s configurator to upgrade the OS, RAM, HD, and other components. A fully kitted out system will run you over $800.
The Logic Supply CL100 is a great little system. It packs just enough punch for daily use, and has an industry leading metal case design. It is definitely worth a look for Industrial workers or Home Theater users. Check out the video below for more info, or follow the link below to go directly to the product page.
