Nintendo is at it again, they have added another piece of tech to the top of my “Shut up and Take my Money” list. This fall you can get your hands on an official ‘Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition‘. The ‘Classic Edition’ is a miniaturized version of the original Nintendo Entertainment System that comes loaded with 30 classic games. If you were an 80’s/90’s kid like me then this is probably a must own.
The NES Classic Edition will connect to your TV via HDMI, and comes with one classic gamepad. You can also use this new controller in conjunction with a Wii remote if you want to use it for some classic gaming on the Wii or Wii U.
The system won’t support old cartridges, but it does have built in storage for game save states. No more leaving the game on for a week while you try and beat it. Of the 30 games included there are some real gems. Check out the complete list below.
- Balloon Fight
- Bubble Bobble
- Castlevania
- Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
- Donkey Kong
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Double Dragon II: The Revenge
- Dr. Mario
- Excitebike
- Final Fantasy
- Galaga
- Ghosts’N Goblins
- Gradius
- Ice Climber
- Kid Icarus
- Kirby’s Adventure
- Mario Bros.
- Mega Man 2
- Metroid
- Ninja Gaiden
- Pac-Man
- Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
- StarTropics
- Super C
- Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros. 2
- Super Mario Bros. 3

No word yet on how/if you will be able to load up new games somehow, as the system has no internet connection. I would imagine that it will have some game load capability, as Nintendo will be more than happy to charge you for more games in the future.
You can buy an NES Classic Edition for $60 on November 11th. If you want to play with your friends you can grab another classic controller for $10.
